SAMPLE WORK AND COMPETENCIES
Detailed Design Document Systematic Design of Instruction

In Fall 2015, during the Systematic Instructional Design course, we were tasked to design and develop a short instructional program using the elements of instructional systems design. I chose “Active Listening” as my topic because listening is an important component of effective communication. By perfecting active listening skill, it will foster positive learning in the classroom by assisting students in mastering the contents of course or subjects, ask incisive questions and learn to think critically about the content. I researched on the principles of active listening and the skills on how to be an active listener. I have attached a copy of the Detailed Design Document for this instructional program. Performance System Analysis (FSU IT and GGSS)

As part of the Performance System Analysis course, we were given the opportunity to work with the Florida State University Information Technology, User Experience department, to improve the system efficiency of the Garnet and Gold Scholar Society Online Portal system for the back-end users. This project was conducted in three phases across a period of ten weeks. We employed several data collection methods to gather information from key stakeholders, and based on the findings, provided recommendations to our client to improve the efficiency of Online Portal system. As attached is the Final Report that has been submitted to our client.

Evaluation Proposal
During the Evaluation of Training Programs course, we were tasked to develop an evaluation proposal aimed at evaluating an existing training program that we have selected. This project was conducted in four phases i.e. introduction of the selected training program, systemic analysis of the training program, evaluation methodology and implementation plans, and evaluation proposal. I was also tasked to present my evaluation methodology and implementation plans to the class as part of the course requirement. The evaluation proposal as attached, provides a full description of all four phases of the entire project. I have also attached the PowerPoint slides that I have created for my presentation.
Competencies:

Communication Skills
- Communicate effectively in written, oral, and visual formats.
- Deliver effective and engaging presentations.
Analysis Skills
- Use appropriate data collection methods and tools to conduct analyses.
- Write analysis reports
Evaluation and Research Skills
- Design and develop formative and summative evaluation plans.
- Write a proposal for a program evaluation.
- Apply appropriate qualitative and quantitative data collection methods.
- Construct valid & reliable data collection tools.
- Develop a communication, implementation, and monitoring plan.
- Provide a rationale for evaluation decisions.
Management Skills
- Collaborate with stakeholders.
Instructional Systems Process Model

During the Introduction to Instructional Design course, we were being introduced to the principles and elements of instructional design. In the learning process, we developed analysis plans and performed several analyses such as needs assessment plan, job task analysis and instructional analysis of an organization of our choice. The final report as attached, provides a breakdown of the analyses and recommendations to improve the selected organization.
Competencies:

Analysis Skills
- Analyze learning and performance problems to recommend appropriate solutions.
- Use a variety of analysis practices such as needs assessment and task analysis.
- Analyze content from a variety of human and non-human sources.
- Write analysis reports and disseminate findings to stakeholders.
Design Skills
- Apply learning theory and systems thinking to design practice.
- Identify the scope and sequence for instructional solutions.
- Provide a rationale for design decisions.
Evaluation and Research Skills
- Design and develop formative and summative evaluation plans.
- Write a proposal for a program evaluation.
- Apply appropriate qualitative and quantitative data collection methods.
- Collect, analyze, and summarize data.
Analytics Problem Plan

As part of the Learning and Web Analytics course, we were tasked to identify a real-world problem that could be solved using analytics. I decided to address funds-related issues in the organization that I work in. Using this real-world problem as an example, I developed data collection, data analysis and reporting plans in an attempt to solve the problem.
